Have you ever watched a film and then found yourself fantasizing about the lives of the actors? Have you ever finished a movie and then found yourself imitating the way the heroine talks, wears, or walks? Do you ever stop to ask yourself how much your opinions and attitude have been influenced by the media and what you are constantly exposed to? The media has a huge influence on the lives of men, women and teenagers. Today, individuals are influenced by the way they dress, speak, behave and think by trying to become another version of themselves. The media not only has a positive effect on us, but it can also have a negative impact. Nowadays, media are widespread in society in different forms (television, books, films, the Internet, etc.) and their effects on individuals are especially evident in the physical and verbal aggression of young people through violent and emotional behaviors. This is the result of the current entertainment media presented. People now constantly watch TV series and music videos and later start taking actors, singers and even TV presenters as role models and dressing like them in an attempt to stand out and be up to date. Not only do they dress like their role models, but they blindly believe in their opinions, no matter how biased and wrong they are. The media currently makes our decisions for us, such as deciding our personal preferences. The media has a great impact on teenagers because it shows an abundance of violence, inappropriate scenes and unhealthy living conditions, making teenagers believe that such behaviors are acceptable in our society. Mass media has exerted a strong negative influence in society, especially on the attitudes, beliefs and values of younger generations. Nowadays, the first thing that... middle of paper... is the use of drugs and alcohol and violent behavior. The mass media has a huge impact and role in shaping everyone's opinions and positions, especially younger generations. The media has taken over our lives as we try to dress, act, behave and even express our opinions based on the celebrities we love. Mass media has a lot of harmful influence, for example young people blindly imitating their role models while also trying to look like them, resulting in many teenagers suffering from eating disorders nowadays. Another huge effect of the media is that you don't have a certain opinion about what is really happening because you believe whatever you hear and you're not sure if that's what really happens. I believe that people need to be careful to minimize these negative influences by being responsible towards themselves and others, especially young people who are easy targets of the media.
