Another way to define “master morality” and “slave morality” is to define a person's culture. A person's culture defines their upbringing which influences their behavior and opinions (which also gives them different views on good and evil). The author recognizes both the “Master” and the “Slave” as human beings with different back stories and different views on the same issues even though they lived close together. For example, each religion has a basic concept of not harming the other. However, each individual who interprets the text (even if they belong to the same religion) defines it differently due to their own upbringing or personal background.
