Feminism has not changed today, but its focus has. Many women today have good education and employment opportunities just like men, as early feminists fought for them. Now, after achieving all this, men discriminate against them and sometimes abuse them to undermine their hard work and potential. Men are doing everything they can to undermine the success that women have been able to acquire, however, today's feminism is fighting to protect women and girls from domestic violence, sexual harassment, rape and discrimination. Today, the feminist movement has grown and is still growing as women around the world have united in the fight against inequality. Even though a lot has changed, all feminists, despite the wave they claim to fit into, are still fighting for equality between women and men around the world. The feminist movement has come a long way and continues to grow as more women join the movements (Collins 178). Even though many of feminism's demands have not been met, much has been achieved and the struggle is still on. Over time, feminism has gained a negative label in society. Society, especially men, see feminism as women's struggle for superiority over men. Furthermore, they see feminists as people who complain and complain about women who feel hatred towards men. There is a lot of misinterpretation and ignorance about the cause of feminism, but it is there to stay and fight against women's rights and comfort in society. Feminism changed the world and made women happier; therefore, it should not be viewed negatively in society. Feminism will always be necessary in today's society because, even with laws protecting women, there is still violence against women... middle of paper... .nt brought about changes in modern society, including women's suffrage, more equal pay with men, the right to initiate divorce proceedings and, where there is equity, better access to education and the right to property, as well as the right of women to make individual decisions regarding pregnancy and abortion . Today, feminist movements are still in force and continue to fight for women's rights. Feminists of the past achieved greater rights and equality for women, therefore feminism is a necessary value for women today and the fight is still open. Works CitedHooks, Bell.
