Christensen defines these people as disruptive innovators. According to Barker, since outsiders have not been immersed in a fragmented culture, it is easier for them to see its flaws. The outsider does not simply accept the way things are done without question simply because he does not know that it should not be questioned. According to Christensen, this disruptive innovator is not tied to the current culture. The advantage of this innovator is simply to create a better process. Lastly, and I think most importantly, change affects everyone. Barker states in his presentation that just because change happens in a department that isn't yours, don't assume it won't affect you. Changes spread throughout the organization, and a change at any point in the process is bound to affect everyone. This is a point that Christensen highlights as a key lesson of disruptive innovation. Disruptions rarely alter any part of the industry. This is usually a radical change. If used successfully, Christensen believes technology is a driving force behind radical change in healthcare. There are so many valuable lessons that can be learned from both Barker and Christensen. For me the main idea is so cliché that change is inevitable. It's just a matter of recognizing what needs to change to create what you want
