More or less, the lack of training teachers receive prevents them from using technology in their curriculum to its fullest potential in the classroom. This especially affects students, who are unable to exploit their potential in the classroom. And having teachers who are not trained to the highest level diminishes the opportunity to have students who are actually motivated to do something new. Students need to be inspired in some way to perform well, and if instructors don't have a clue what they're supposed to do, students won't do it either. Teachers who are well trained in how to use technology in the classroom believe they provide their students with a learning structure that is better suited to them and offers a more versatile learning opportunity. Students become more engaged in their learning and begin to make stronger connections between their work and the real world.
