Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in Salzbury, Austria. His father Leopold Mozart was a successful composer, violinist and concert assistant at the Salzbury court. His mother Anna Maria Pertl was born into the middle class. His family were local community leaders. He had a sister named Maria Anna Mozart. His nickname was Nannerl. He was 4 years older than Wolfgang. At the age of 3, Wolfgang imitated his sister while playing the piano. He demonstrated an understanding of chords, key and tempo. It was then that his father began to educate him. At the age of 5, Wolfgang demonstrated exceptional playing of the clarinet and violin. In 1762, at the age of 6, Wolfgang and his sister began traveling throughout Europe, from Paris to London. During his tours he had the opportunity to meet many other established artists and listen to their music. In London he met Johann Christian Back who exerted a strong influence on Wolfgang. The trips he and his sister took were long and sometimes in bad weather. Sometimes they had to wait to get paid and this prolonged the tour. At the age of 13 Wolfgang and his father left for Italy. In Rome he listened to Gregorio Allegns Miserere. He later rewrote the song from memory and corrected the errors. He also wrote a new work, Mitridate, Re di Ponto. He wrote two other operas, Ascanio in Alda (1771) and Lucio Silla (1772). In March 1773 that was the last time Wolfgang and his father went to Italy, when he became assistant to the concertmaster. Before the age of 21 he developed a passion for violin concertos. In 1776 his passion turned to piano concertos. This led to it culminating at number 9 in E-flat major. In 1777 he turned 21 when he felt he wanted more from life. So Wolfgang and his mother look for a better opportunity. Him and his mother... middle of paper... and the annual dances. In the late 1780s he moved his family from the center of Vienna to the outskirts of Alsergrud. To reduce the cost of living. In this period he wrote his last three symphonies “De Ponte Operas”, “Cosi fan Tuttle” and “Black Thought”. From 1790 to 1791, in his early thirties, Wolfgang underwent some personal healings and during this period he wrote "The Magic Flute", the final piano concerto in B flat, the clarinet concerto in A minor and the unfinished Requiem. From September 1791 to December 1791 he became seriously ill and was unable to perform his music. His sister came to his bedside to care for him when he became bedridden in November. On December 5, 1791 he died. They said he died of severe military fever on his official post-mortem diagnosis. Wolfgang Mozart is still known for his achievements today. For being one of the greatest composers.
