The antislavery movement before the 1830s was humble, partially slow, and not well supported. The anti-slavery movement before 1830 was the spark that led to the abolitionist acts after 1830. The abolitionist movement had a greater impact on the nation as a whole than the anti-slavery movement before 1830.
