The reason is that college is too expensive. If the United States of America wants to be at the top of education statistics, why not make college affordable? There are many people in today's world who are smart enough, but don't have the money to go to college, so what happens to those people? Most work minimum wage jobs for the rest of their lives, others save money into their 30s and can afford college. If jobs require people to fill certain positions, they should look to those who have earned a high school diploma and not just people with some college experience or a college degree. Companies should take into consideration that not everyone can afford college, but they can have the same experience as a person who has some college
