A/N: Just a quick reminder that this is set in SEASON NINE, before Arizona cheats on Callie! “When it rains, it pours. Perhaps the art of life is to transform difficult moments into great experiences: we can choose to hate the rain or dance in it." - Joan Marques You've probably heard the saying "when it rains, it pours." At Grave Stone Memorial, formerly Seattle Grace Mercy Death Hospital, the saying always rang true (no pun intended). This was where bad things happened, over and over again. Life is historically full of ups and downs. We often wonder why bad things happen to good people. Why some people's lives are marked by all this devastation and why it seems like nothing bad ever happens to some people. “Life should have meaning,” no one ever said. Life is only as complicated as the bad events that happen to us on our journey. “Life is a journey, not a destination,” said Ralph Waldo Emerson. All human beings one day arrive at the same destination: death. You've probably heard someone in your life say, "We live and then we die." When a person dies, a common question is “How did they die?” You've never heard someone ask at a funeral, "How did they live?" In retrospect, though, how a person died is not what's important. What really matters is how they lived; the difference they made as they walked the Earth. Some people face a lot more than others during their life's journey. Some people have an easier life, others don't. It is the ones who have to struggle through their life's journey who become role models for the rest of us. They are the ones who end up in high school history books. They are the ones who become our heroes. “If there is a crisis you don't stop, you move forward. Did you take the rest... middle of paper... did you cheat on your husband? Not everyone knows you like I do. I know you would never cheat on Derek, and Derek is a fucking idiot to even jump to that conclusion, even if it's not his fault. He has been betrayed in the past. I’ll take you to the airport, Mer, but running away from this won’t help.” There was a moment of silence. Meredith felt the need to escape, but she didn't know where to go, and she didn't want to be alone tonight. “I guess you don't know me as well as you thought,” Meredith replied bitterly. “I'm not running away from my problems. I'm looking for my daughter. Derek took it and won't answer my texts or calls. Alex, he has family on the East Coast. I... I... I think he might take her there." Alex's eyes widened and she pulled out her cell phone. "What are you doing?" she let out a gasp. "I'm calling your husband," Alex replied bluntly..
