Statement of Purpose I am applying to the University of Texas at Dallas to pursue a Master's program in Computer Science with an emphasis on operating systems and computer architecture. In ten years, I imagine myself as a professional researcher in an organization or on a faculty of a major university. Ultimately, my goal is to seek a Ph.D. Degree. The 21st century is a harbinger of a major transition in terms of the information technology sector for India. I've seen technology change people's lives for the better. Because of this impression and my innate curious nature, I realized my dream of starting university studies in Computer Engineering. I stood 99th in the state of Maharashtra among all engineering aspirants, which secured me a position in the College of Engineering, Pune, one of the oldest and most prestigious engineering institutes in India. I have made the most of the state-of-the-art facilities that have been provided to me over four years of learning engineering fundamentals and contributing to research work at the college. Additionally, I consistently tried to maintain my academic rank in the top 25% of the class. With 2.5 years of industry experience as a Development Engineer at Calsoft Pvt. Ltd. Pune, after graduating in Computer Science Engineering, I realized that my next step would be a Masters in Computer Science. This realization began when my Principles of Programming Language professor introduced us to the Linux operating system. Over the past three years, my passion for research has gradually grown, especially in the systems field. I started experimenting with open source tools which greatly improved my programming and data structure skills. Courses like "Operating Systems",...... middle of paper... firmly believe that persistent hard work in education builds the best foundation for future career. Due to the innovative and pioneering research work underway at your university, I would consider it a privilege to participate in the Master's study and make use of state-of-the-art research facilities. I am sure that the University of Texas at Dallas will offer me the right guidance and excellent research opportunity to work with distinguished faculty. I look forward to meeting and receiving guidance from Professor Neeraj Mittal, whose work in the field of distributed computing interests me and matches my interests. I look forward to working with Professor I-Ling Yen and Edwin Sha. I hope to get financial assistance. I understand that it is my great responsibility to work hard for my education. I am looking forward to getting admitted into your institute in the recognized computer science department.
