History has shown that some racial groups, particularly blacks and Latinos, have had a long and poor relationship with the police, largely due to socioeconomic discrimination and racist in one way or another. Race is a tremendous part when it comes to police brutality, but you only see something break out in a tremendous way when it's white officers assaulting someone of the opposite race. Maybe it's not always race that's the problem but the fact that the citizen was doing something wrong. So, just because he or she is a different race, all fingers are pointed at the officer who was just trying to serve justice. This means it could go either way, it's not always the cops fault but that's what the media has perceived it to be and they have nothing more than a stereotype towards officers of the law. Perhaps it was the civilian who instigated or threatened them. They have the right to protect themselves, and sometimes this is exploited by the media and even the community
