Introduction Nestlé is a Swiss company founded in 1905 by the merger of the Anglo-Swiss Milk Company, founded in 1866 by brothers George Page and Charles Page and Farine Lactée Henri Nestlé. It is based in Vevey, Switzerland. Nestles products include bottled water, baby food, breakfast cereals, confectionery, tea, coffee, ice cream, pet food, frozen foods and snacks. The company has 447 factories in 194 countries. The workforce is 330,000 people. In 2011 the company was listed first on the Fortune Global 500 as the most profitable organization in the world. It ranks ninth in the FT Global 500 2013 with a market capitalization of $233 billion. In terms of revenue, the company is the largest food company in the world. Nestlé's main competitors are Kraft Foods, PepsiCo, Mars Incorporated and Unilever. For specific products and locations, the company faces challenges from Danone, Cadbury and Sara Lee. The company has undertaken various initiatives towards CSR which include: World Cocoa Foundation, sustainable agriculture initiatives, Ecolaboration, expansion of activities in the field of health nutrition, etc. It has sponsored various programs such as "Good Food, Good Life" in Russia, the United Kingdom and France.
