Stress in CollegeEvery person will experience some degree of stress in their life. Stress can be healthy. Stress can make a person feel hopeless, helpless, and helpless. Constant worry about problems can cause a variety of physical symptoms. Some people deal with stress more than others. College students face stress at every stage of their courses. Gender, age, and economic situation greatly influence how a person experiences stress in college. Bettina (2001) conducted research on stress stating that "coping strategies used by adolescents demonstrate that children use more problem-oriented and direct action approaches to stress." Bettina (2001) states: ''Girls use passive and search strategies to deal with stress''. Women like to talk about their stress with others and try to find friends who can help them. Men put unwanted energy into doing energetic things like sports, work, or watching television. In most families, girls are encouraged to have conversations about feelings more than boys. Venting to someone can help keep away the feeling that stress is overwhelming. Aid-win, Sutton, and Lachman (1996) studied whether stressful episodes provide content for the development of coping resources and reported: “81.9% of men reported having resolved recent problems using coping strategies acquired in precedence encountering problems in their life, work and work". family''. As a person ages, they are better able to deal with stress. An older person will find ways to minimize excitement and energy levels. A returning student will tend to know exactly what they want to do with their future. Having a vision of your future makes a person more focused. Returning students do not need to satisfy their curiosity by doing anything that strays from their vision. When a student is eighteen years old fresh out of high school, your mindset is different. A younger student isn't sure what he wants to do. A new student becomes very curious, finds freedom. New students tend to feel like they are on top of the world and life will become easier after the high
