In Taylor's photo it is difficult to distinguish between males and females and between Native Americans and Pilgrims. Except for a few people outside who are shown in incredible detail, most people blend in and blend in like a crowd. With most of the figures it is difficult to distinguish their faces. Taylor does this to make the narrative of the piece focus on the treaty rather than the individual people involved in signing the treaty. In Wolf's image it is easy to distinguish the different tribes and genders of people. In fact, most of the people in the photo are women. This shows that in Native American culture they value women in their society. It also separates the different tribes by using different colors of clothing. This allows the viewer to understand which tribes were directly involved in the treaty and which were simply watching. Wolf makes it clear that the main focus should be on the people actually involved in the treaty
