In The Great Gatsby, Gatsby finds himself in a difficult situation and can't get out of it. He is having an affair with a married woman he loves very much. He's not the only character in the book who finds himself in that situation. Most of the main characters are in relationships. This leads to all the characters getting into physical altercations. Gatsby and the other main characters go through a physical journey that ultimately ends in fatal tragedies due to mutual affairs with each other's lover. Jay Gatsby was a millionaire whose lifestyle is similar to the American dream and predictable fall due to the charm that should clarify the lies that accompany death (Szumskyj). He fell in love with Daisy Buchanan from the time he looked at her without knowing that she was a married woman. Dedicated to making Daisy his wife, he continued to court her.
