HPE 1 ASSIGNMENT 2 ID: 663656QUESTION 1The study addresses the impact of dietary acculturation on obesity rates among migrant communities in Logan, southern Queensland -oriental. Food acculturation is the result of migration and involves migrants adopting nutritional behaviors and dietary practices from host countries (1). It has been associated with a higher incidence of obesity and diabetes among migrants. (2). This study examines the nutrition information needs of African and Pacific Islander communities in Logan. Stakeholders include anyone who has an “interest” in an evaluation or study (3). In this study, the relevant stakeholders were migrant communities, mainly African and Pacific Islanders. Other stakeholders included officials from the local Health and Social Services Board, organizations working in the government health sector in Logan, non-government organizations and the Logan-Beaudesert Place Based Initiative of Queensland Health. The study targeted members of the migrant community living in the Logan Region of Queensland. Participants were migrants from Africa (Congo, Ethiopia, Burundi and Sudan) and Pacific Islanders (Samoa, Cook Islands, Tonga and New Zealand (the Maori)). QUESTION 2A “Front-end” evaluation is described as a “nothing to something” or from-scratch program development approach (4). It is carried out at the beginning of a program during the development of themes. It's about generating input from the target population about their existing knowledge, their expectations, and preparing to present that information in a way that can be easily interpreted. An initial assessment involves conducting a basic needs assessment, using research, and reviewing the literature...... middle of paper ...... Dietary patterns of South Asian immigrants.
