Although receiving good grades is important, cheating is not the right way to do it. Students who cheat harm their futures in post-secondary education and their careers. Cheating causes the student to lose critical thinking skills, honesty, self-image and integrity, self-confidence, respect and reputation. Without critical thinking a student will have difficulty distinguishing clear and reasonable judgments. To move forward and expand one's education, a student must first clearly understand the basic concepts of a topic. If a student cheats in core classes, they are setting themselves up for cheating in the future because they will not understand higher level work when the foundation is not in place. Even though cheating is not acceptable, once the cheating process begins it is difficult to exterminate it. Students find it easier to cheat as they continue to do so and become more dishonest in life. Cheating ruins a student's integrity, self-image, self-confidence, and respect. When applying for a job and the future employer sees that the student has achieved good grades in school, the student will have difficulty living up to that potential due to the fact that he or she will not be able to solve problems, offer ideas logic, or manage the
