Anne FrankBy: Alexis BahrAlmost everyone has felt the legacy of this young teenage icon of World War II. His story, his family, his personal life and almost everything in his life; the reason for this was his diary. His diary was published by his father, Otto Frank. Although some parts have been changed, this diary had become known as a hopeful yet terrifying time for Jews. The way Anne Frank wrote about her life made all the horrors of the Holocaust real. He was about 13 years old when he hid with 7 other people in their hiding place called the Secret Annex. They were later found and had an inevitable fate in the concentration camp. The concentration camps were filled with revolting conditions; packed bunks, hunger, disease, overwork of the prisoners, torture and the smell of death always in the air. In this terrifying massacre, approximately 6 million Jews from all over the world were killed. In these next statements I will tell you more about the Holocaust, the concentration camps, the story of Anne Frank and the legacy she left. The year is 1942; the Frank family went into hiding. It was positioned behind a door hidden behind a floating shelf; there were 8 people up there, the Van Pels, Fritz Pfeffer and Anne Frank's family. Before this, Anne Frank was a normal teenager, going to the movies with friends and doing other normal things at that time. The Germans would eventually take control of the Netherlands and dramatically change the lives of Jews. After this change; Jews have to wear the Star of David on their clothes with them everywhere so people know they are Jews, walk everywhere, only shop in stores specifically designated for Jews, schools have been changed so Jews... half paper. .....WELL. I and many other people out there hope that there is never another dictator in the history of the Earth who is such a horrible human being that he can cause so much death.
