I have a lot of experience in planning and organizing coaching sessions, from work experience placements to football training sessions. In BTEC Sport Level 3 I was taught how to organize my sessions using lesson templates. I was also taught to undergo a risk assessment before starting any session to ensure all risks and dangers were minimised. I have been able to teach a variety of different sessions in experiences, for example coaching specific sport activities (football, basketball) for older students or coaching the more fundamental side of the sport for younger ones. Planning is essential to achieve effective participation in the organization of work. This focuses on the ability to apply knowledge and skills in an integrated way in work and coaching situations. (Curtain, 2004) Much of my experience came from working alongside different coaches, this gave me a good range of different ways in which I could coach effectively. Once these sessions were over, I was able to reflect on what the coach had done and make observations about the different coaching styles they had used in the session, so that I could gain insights and learn from them. To gain more knowledge in skilled coaching, no matter what level you work at, you need to develop the ability to reflect on past sessions and integrate it methodically and regularly into your coaching sessions. (Crisfield, 2003) I was able to complete a Movement Fundamentals course where I was able to gain knowledge on how to develop the key areas that young children need to improve in to begin working on sport specific training sessions. I have also had many FUNDAMENTAL sessions in my coaching classes where I have been able to set up different exercises for...... middle of paper...... where I have been able to deliver a decent session e.g. school gyms, football pitches, playgrounds. I have had experiences where I had to coach people in groups in many training coaching sessions that occurred during my course. I was able to converse with the group and work together to plan a successful session and help each other run those sessions. I am able to maintain calm and professionalism while working with children and if there were to be any behavioral problems I would definitely be able to remain calm and deal with the situation appropriately. When I work, my attitude is very positive, I will gladly accept any position offered as I believe I have a fair amount of knowledge on different aspects of coaching. For example, training a group exclusively to train a group or shadowing and assisting a coach.
