Essay on Romeo and JulietIn Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy written by the great English playwright William Shakespeare- "a pair of star-crossed lovers takes their own lives", due to the rivalry of two families (Crowther 1). Simply put, hatred between two families drives a pair of lovers to commit suicide. Even if this case is a suicide, the blame may not all lie with the lovers: Romeo and Juliet. The tragedy could be the fault of other people involved in this event, especially the adults around the lovers. There are three adults around the lovers who could have influenced them and led to their deaths: Friar Laurence, the nurse and the pharmacist. In the story, Romeo's only trusted advisor is Friar Laurence, the person who agrees to marry the lovers, later leading to their deaths. Initially, Romeo's heart belongs to Rosaline, a relative of the Capulet family. Her rejection deeply saddens Romeo, although when he sees Juliet, his heart for Rosaline shifts towards her. Juliet of the Capulet family becomes Romeo's love interest, as he is to her. This childish love between the two lovers is love at first sight, childish and may not last long, and Friar Lawrence knows for sure: Holy Saint Francis, this is a drastic change! Did you give up Rosaline, who you loved so much, so quickly? So young people love with their eyes, not with their hearts. Jesus and Mary, how many tears did you cry for Rosalina? How many salty tears have you wasted salting a love you've never tasted? The sun has not yet melted the fog you created with all your sighs. The moans you made still ring in my old ears. There is still a stain on your cheek from an old tear that hasn't been washed away yet. If you were ever... the center of the card... a living Romeo, she would not have killed herself to die after him. Friar Laurence, the nurse, the pharmacist: these people should bear the most blame for falsely influencing the decisions made by the lovers. A person influenced by bad thoughts should not take all the blame for committing a crime; rather, these bad thoughts that influence him should also be blamed. Without these characters, Romeo and Juliet would not have died: they could actually live peacefully with each other, away from their families. But without these characters, Romeo and Juliet would not be such a successful work, containing the essence of a tragedy, "for there was never a more sorrowful story than this of Juliet and her Romeo (Crowther 94)."
