Data InterpretationIntroductionTo start in some sort of form, our geography lesson was divided into 7 groups of 4 people so that it would be easier and faster to obtain, observe and record our results from 7 specific sites chosen on the River Alyn. I am in group 7. Of the 7 sites visited by our geography lesson, we only visited 2. The other 5 sites were visited by other geography lessons during the year in a space of 3-4, so the conditions are not vary a lot. The River Alyn is located in North Wales and is a tributary of the River Dee (see fig.1, page 8). The two sites my class visited were Llanferres and Pontblyddyn. Llanferres is the most upstream and Pontblyddyn is the second most downstream. The results from all other sites visited were entered into the school computers and then printed for our needs. Methodology-Hypothesis I will investigate the pollution of the R.Alyn. I chose to investigate the R.Alyn pollution because I think scientific testing will give me better results to work with. I believe R.Alyn pollution will decrease downstream until high pollution spikes occur at sewage treatment plants (192635), chemical plants (234649) and also at Mold Ruby Club (245644). I believe that after these sites the R. .Alyn pollution will be reduced at site 7, Hope(283603). For the location of the other sites see (fig.2, page 9). Reasons for the hypothesis I believe that pollution will decrease downstream up to and after the points of high pollution because as the river flows it gets more oxygen from the air. Air bubbles are produced on the surface of the river as... in the center of the paper... traced by my results. I have put all my figures after this page but I will only focus on the following figures for data interpretation:Ÿ Figure 7, Bar graph to compare the color and suspended solids of the R.Alyn.Ÿ Figure 8, Stack graph bar graph to show the total number of animals found at the 7 sites.Ÿ Figure 9, bar graph to show the nitrate and ammonium levels at 7 sites.Ÿ Figure 10, bar graph to show the oxygen level in R .Alyn.Ÿ Figure 11, Bar graph comparing foaming test results to R.Alyn turbidity test results.
