The poem that I found interesting and that I chose to analyze is “Sonnet 29” by William Shakespeare. In this poem Shakespeare refers to himself as unhappy at the beginning and towards the end of the poem he changes his mind and is grateful again. We will delve deeper into some key elements of this poem to get a better understanding of its meaning. Form The form of this poem is a sonnet. A sonnet is a highly structured form of lyric poetry, containing 14 lines and usually the same meter (rhythmic pattern) also known as iambic pentameter (Clugston, 2010). In the case of Sonnet 29, it is in English or Shakespearean form in other words.
