Divorce for Caucasians and African Americans seems to be much more accepted than it once was. There are so many difficulties with divorce such as role confusion, behavioral, depression and psychological problems. These problems are often amplified by a certain race, culture, or socioeconomic class. Lower classes or races struggle even more with single parenthood due to the lack of opportunities and the cycle they continue to fall into. The question is why divorce is becoming more common and what the underlying factors are. Through this research we help highlight how single-parent African American families are struggling and how little room for improvement they are given. This research has shown more negative outcomes of African American single mothers compared to single-family families in the dominant culture. It really feels like a circle that continues through each one
