COMMUNISM! A word that has struck fear into many Americans since the early 1900s. What exactly is communism and what makes it so bad? Most people hear about everyone living by the same rules and how there's no such thing as rich and poor, all the same, but do they ever stop to wonder how they're going to get the money to do it this way? Well, in my article I will show how the communists intend to make everyone equal. Communism has existed for hundreds if not thousands of years. It was first popularized by *1 VI Lenin after reading the writings of Karl Marx. *2 It was first practiced in a Russian government after the 1917 Revolution. The idea seems good: everyone shears and gets equal shares in everything, but here's an example of what it would be like: Let's say you live in a small town that it housed 100 people (about 18 families). Well, when your government became communist you actually cared because you lived in a tight-knit community where everyone shared in every way with their neighbors. So, being a hard worker, you start cultivating your 50 acres of land but after you have cultivated most of your land a government man comes and tells you that from now on you don't own any land anymore but the government will give it to you. will allow you to take care of 20.6 acres as long as you send them some of the product every year after harvest. Well, of course you get angry but the government man says don't worry that the same goes for your whole city and everyone has an equal share. It also tells you that the government will pay for all the seeds you have to plant. This reassures you a little because you will no longer have to pay for the seed. So you work and toil only until the harvest. There was a drought this year, so it was tough on most of your neighbors, but you were lucky to have a stream near the land you cared for, so you reaped a bumper crop. Then the man from the government came again and told you that since this had been a bad year he would have to take all your harvest but that you could have enough for a week and when you run out come to the community store to get more.
