Topic > Genocide in Iraq requires immediate US attention

Genocide is the organized and widespread killing, or attempted execution, of an entire national, racial, religious, or ethnic group (www.freedictionary.com) . Over 1 million Iraqis were killed in the genocide. The genocide in Iraq began in 1991, although many people thought it began in 2003. It is important to think about this issue, because people need to know the history and the struggles that people have to endure to keep our country together . . It's also important because people need to know what's happening in the world, starting today. The famous Sadaam Hussein is known throughout the world for his vengeful acts, which led to genocide. Threats to kill large numbers of people have had an impact on the United States and Iraq itself. The genocide in Iraq is a devastating issue that requires immediate U.S. attention. There are so many obstacles in the world today, and genocide is one of the biggest problems. Why does this act of cruelty exist among the Iraqi people and why does it involve the United States? One answer to this question is because the American government is harassing a peace group that brings medicine and toys to dying children. Every year 4,500 children under the age of 5 die (Noam Chomsky). This shows other countries that the United States is greedy Americans and people don't care, but at the same time we need to help our country too. Without America's help, children will continue to die. In October 2006, the Lancet published research from John Hopkins University in the United States and al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad, which estimated that 65,000 Iraqis had died as a result of the Anglo-American invasion (John Pilger). It is petrifying to think of the untold amount of people killed and how they suffer... middle of paper... and groups that deliver medicines and other supplies need to be careful about what they give to other countries. Some things distributed to other countries could lead to the invention of nuclear weapons. As a result, Americans must pay for the war in Iraq to end the genocide. It seems that all the adversities of other countries always fall on the United States. This shows that the United States is a strong nation. The cause of pollution has affected many children and is a major cause of death among them. What can America do for people in need? The United States has done a lot in Iraq, but there is still much to do. Iraq really turns out to be a cruel country because its people fight against the Americans. It's hysterical because the Americans are trying to help Iraq. The genocide must be brought to attention in America, so that it can be solved.
