Women over the years have proven that there should always be equality between women and men. In the novel Like Water for Chocolate written by the famous author Laura Esquivel, she mentions her strongest feminist through a main character, who is Tita. Many clear and detailed deceptions of the characters showed how the women in this book prove that there is not only a male-dominated reality. In this book the author wrote memories that remained forever in Tita's heart. In this book there are several models of strong, powerful or otherwise influential women in terms of characters developed. The best feminist that catches my attention is Tita, who is the protagonist, ever since she was born her life has been a journey of downs. She was the head of the ranch. The tradition that the Garza family followed for girls was that the last daughter could not marry because she would have to take care of her mother until her death. For this reason, Tita and mother Elena had many problems, which consequently resulted in Tita being slapped by her mother who appeared to behave in a chauvinist way by saying: “Are you starting your rebellion again? All it takes is having the audacity to break the rules in sewing” (12). Tita is an influential person because as time goes by she learns to love those who make her When Rosaura and mother Elena died Tita was strong enough to leave everything in the past including Pedro and began a new relationship with John according to Esquivel "she could not find the words to express the feelings he saw inside her since she left the ranch” (108). Then later Pedro wasn't okay with Tita getting married to John, she acted like a man According to the New York Times A woman can act like a man, “Tita could not understand Pedro's attitude; he acted like a child and threw tantrums” (211). “Tita no longer cared what people said when their romance was made public.” (237).
