From the time you are a child to the time you are an adult, animal testing is used in your everyday products. From the Pampers you wore as a child and the Johnson and Johnsons you wash with. Until you are older, Febreeze, Sunsilk and Gillette you use. (Animal Testing Companies) Animal testing surrounds you in every act of life. “It is estimated that approximately 100 million animals are used worldwide in animal testing.” (Animal Rights) Animal experimentation arises from natural curiosity. How the insides of a living organism work and look is an interesting idea. Due to the fact that dissection of humans was illegal by the Roman Church, animals were the second best option for learning about living organisms. (Animal testing) The debate on the idea of animal testing is very heated. There are many conflicting opinions on why it is right or not. Animal testing began in the 1800s to create vaccines for children, the animals on which tests began were monkeys, mice and guinea pigs. Based on Charles Darwin's idea that humans are closely related to primates, we based the idea that animal testing would benefit us. (Animal testing) Animal testing caused pain and relief alike. On one hand, innocent animals are dying, on the other, we are creating vaccines to save both animals and humans. It depends on ethics whether you think animal testing is right or not. And in which cases, including drug testing, vaccines, consumer products, biomedical research and education. Many people protest against animal testing because of the inhumane way animals are and have been treated; and the mentality of the operators knew why it is right.
