Law is one of the oldest professions humans have ever practiced. The law was established by the Lord, and we as humans have taken on the role of enforcing God's law through our justice system and policies. Since this was taken over by humans, earthly influences have in a sense made the profession somewhat corrupt or deceptive. Along with these issues comes the issue of the profession transforming more in how quickly it can change and make the law easier to practice than the law itself. Overall, the legal profession is changing rapidly on a daily basis, suggesting that a lawyer's lifestyle both financially and emotionally. One of the major issues being a lawyer faces would be how competitive it is to be a lawyer. Lawyers are known to be very successful but also extremely wealthy and powerful. This stereotype is not true but it is a widespread idea in today's society. Since this is the case, lawyers are expected to be successful and have a profitable practice no matter how they can achieve it. This statement is actually a myth as only about 1% of those working in large companies earn high salaries of over 100k. (5 Myths About Practicing Law) With the few jobs left, they have been unavailable since the 2009 recession plagued the economy. Law firms were firing their employers at staggering rates, leaving many lawyers jobless and disgruntled and many prospective lawyers apprehensive. (A law degree and nowhere to go) This example sets the bar high for prospective lawyers, so in return they look to graduate from the most prestigious law schools. Unfortunately, this is another dilemma facing future lawyers. According to CBS, law school costs on average about 43,000... half the task... and be content to serve.
