Know your audience and communication When an event of this magnitude occurs involving a company and a large community, there are many different roles and audiences that need to be considered when attempting to communicate the details of the event. event. In this case we are talking about a mining company that encountered the collapse of a cave that trapped many miners, thus putting their lives at risk and time passing faster and faster with each passing day. Therefore, since time is becoming an extremely indispensable factor, it is necessary to act quickly and without compromising the effectiveness of the messages transmitted. An immediate message must be delivered to all family members of the company's employees, both those who were directly affected by the collapse as well as those who were not. I believe the best form of communication would be to send a company representative to each home to relay the information directly; rather they listen to rumors that have probably already been broadcast through the media. Miners' families likely have many needs and questions that need to be answered. The number one question they would like answered would probably be the status of their family member. They would also like to know what the cause of the accident was, what initiatives were put in place to contribute to the rescue of their family member and finally what timeframes are expected for the rescue of their loved one. Just as I believe that verbal communication would be the best channel to communicate with these family members, I also believe that written communication with all the facts and details of the event coming from the head of the family would also be very comforting to them at this time. ..... middle of the paper ...... at 1pm we will meet in the auditorium to go into more detail and give you more information. Thanks again! Sincerely, CEO Conclusion By providing both of these communications to these individuals, it is just the beginning of moving in the right direction and meeting many of the basic needs in this situation. I believe that here follow-up is essential to keep everything in order and under control. After maintaining constant updates and open communication, the entire process should be smooth as the rescue is processed and becomes a success. Works CitedWeik, J., (2010).
