The scene of this film of which I have chosen to do a musical analysis is the scene in which Harry Potter and Hermione walk through the small town where Harry Potter was born and where his family was murdered. They meet a woman who Harry identifies as an acquaintance of Dumbledore, the old head of Hogwarts who was murdered in a previous film. It is in the house where I begin my musical analysis and until the scene is finished, I will break down the music and edit the whole scene. As background information is given and the characters wander around the apartment, strings begin to play and the bass drum is hit a few times anticipating a buildup of some kind. Just a little in the background you can hear the growing tension of the strings and horn section. As Harry and Herrnoine wander through the house, Harry meets the old woman again who begins to speak to him in the Parcel Language. This is where the tension of the strings is increasingly clear in the background. When Hermoine enters a room full of insects flying around, the horns peak for a brief moment, signifying that there may be something she fears behind the door and the
