HydroponicsIntroductionNAME HERE and I were fascinated by hydroponics and the idea that you don't have to get your hands dirty to be a great gardener, and if you're like us that's a good thing. The idea of Hydroponics has been around since the pyramids were built, but in all these years it never seemed to catch on. It took about forty-six hundred years before the first scientist took a look at hydroponics and adapted it to grow crops, he was a professor at the University of California, and the result was a 25-foot tomato plant that needed to be harvested from a ladder. Thus hydroponics was reborn and has continued to progress ever since. Yet until 5 years ago the home grower and the general public were unaware of hydroponics. It was used only by commercial growers. But now it's caught on and led to this experiment. When you think about hydroponics you should think about the applications of hydroponics. Not only does metered hydroponics produce bigger, better, healthier plants than traditional soil, but it can also be of great benefit on things like submarines, space stations, offshore oil rigs, or any other place where soil is hard to find . .During this experiment we will look for which plants are best suited to hydroponics by measuring which plant has grown taller or thicker. We will also look for green, healthy-looking leaves on the plants. We have no idea what the results might be, so it should be an exciting experiment. ProblemWhich form of plant life will thrive most in a hydroponic enrichment. Will the tomatoes be our fruit, the peas our vegetables, the Tinker Bell flowers or the beans a legume? We first selected a suitable PVC pipe and cut it into a 4 foot long piece. Next we cut four holes in the tube with a jigsaw. Next we drilled two holes to insert the brass tees. Then we glued the two caps. Then we drilled two holes, one to place the bucket and the other to insert the plastic tube. Then we glued the 20mm tube into one of the holes. Next we cut our 4 inch PVC pipe and glued the cap to it. Then we drilled two holes in the tube and inserted two brass nosepieces into the newly drilled holes. Now take the plastic tube and cut it into 4 pieces. One piece is for drainage, one for the secondary tank and two for separating the secondary tank
