The more things change, the more they tend to stay the same. Years may pass and many things may appear different, yet most things remain as they were centuries ago, even if they may be changed slightly. The Barcelona chair has shown its face in the past eighty years, never changed and hardly reformed, the common trend of Barcelona makes a return to the 21st century. A trend, an easy entity to follow, today's trends however have had a de-ja-vu effect on today's society. Many fashion and design trends have been seen and done before. This time they have resurfaced in recent years and have been slightly updated to suit the trend followers of today's era. Trends like jeans have come and gone over the years and many have followed their form. From working class jeans, to crazy cowboy boots and of course the rebellious years, to the present day seen as the relaxed era of jeans. The trends originated during "Ancient Roman times, clothing was simply animal skin and grass, but soon transformed into cloth during Greek and Roman times." (Kimberley Heit, 2012) ''Men and women draped their their bodies with cloths.'' Slowly a common trend arose that "women draped up to five layers of cloth at a time," and the trend was followed shortly thereafter trends started and grew faster" (Kimberley Heit,2012). Today, according to Hung Tran, "a person is employed to discover local and global trends, this person is called a trend forecaster, they predict why and how trends emerge or re-emerge and how this specific trend will be introduced in the long term.
