In the book “Does the Frontier Experience Make America Great?” we are presented with six different essays on the American frontier. The title of the book alone makes you think because it makes the brain think about the frontier and makes the reader think about thinking about this question. I found the book easy to read and very inspiring to the point that it made you start thinking if your opinion was right. To me this book seemed more designed to be read before class and discussed in a public setting, rather than being a book to be read in private. I also thought the book was less of a history book and more of an excellent example of debate. Each essay in the book begins with a question to get the reader thinking. The first essay is Fredrick Jackson Turner's essay on “The Meaning of the Frontier in American History” and asks the question: How did the idea of the “frontier” arise?
