The Promethean perspective is shown quite a bit in Ecotopia because as a society they work to use nature productively. This differs from Bear in “Flight Behavior” because ecotopians use nature productively in a way that benefits both them and the environment. In "Flight Behavior" Bear manipulates nature and uses it to his advantage and does not care about the negative impact. One way they use nature productively is the way Ecotopia has set up their sewer system. In the book “Ecotopia” the deputy prime minister tells Will; “The first major project of his ministry after independence, he said, was to bring the country's food cycle back to a stable state; all food waste, sewage, and waste were to be transformed into organic fertilizers and applied to the land, where they would once again enter the food production cycle” (Callenbach, 17). With their stable state they use nature productively where food waste and wastewater are recycled so as to nourish the earth after feeding people. This shows that ecotopians are not wasters and use nature in every way possible so that nothing is wasted. The ecological perspective is shown in "Ecotopia" when Will discovers how Ecotopia produces and recycles plastic. The production and recycling of plastic in Ecotopia is eco-friendly because it demonstrates how ecosystem health matters to people
