When Lily started up the steps, he pulled her back. Letting out a cry, she fell into his arms and then laughed. Nathan grabbed Lily and laughed as her left shoe began to slide down her foot, dangling off the ground. Leaning into Nathan he kissed her, thinking he would never tire of her lips or her embrace. Returning the kiss as softly as he was, she began to nibble on his lip. He was getting lost again, trying to speak pushed him back slightly. “I want you to come up,” he said almost plainly. “I understand,” Nathan said, trying not to sigh. "I know," she said a little less clearly as she no longer held him back and continued kissing him again. "It's just that it's our first date and I'm a little old-fashioned," she said, and even as she did so she could see Martin in her head giving her his stern approval. Nathan stopped kissing and looked into her eyes. “I understand,” he said sincerely. "I've waited a lifetime for you, Lily," he declared in a whisper. Then Nathan started giggling. "What's another day or two?" Nathan tried to kiss her again. Throwing her head back Lily laughed, but her face was the picture of one stunned. "A day or two!" he exclaimed. “I'll tell you I'm an old fashioned drifter, at least for a week” “Did you see the dinner bill?” Nathan asked. Laughing she grabbed him by the collar and pulled him to her lips once again. She was thrilled that he was still holding onto Lily and that his feet were dangling off the ground without his left shoe. But she was even more excited to feel the other hand firmly grasped on her buttocks, pulling her towards him. Now he could see Todd in his head, and he was pushing Martin out of the picture cheering,... halfway through the card too...? he asked almost regretfully. His new sense of power was like a roller coaster. Rick chuckled mockingly. “It's funny, Lily, isn't it. This is the result of your new boyfriend blindly targeting me.” “How did you target Todd,” Lily retorted. Lily knew that Nathan had stopped the attack, but she thought they had run away. “That fagot embarrassed me,” Rick said, staring at the knife in Lily's hand, then at her. “The cops are looking for you Rick, why are you here? "For you Lily...for us, I have to get you away from him," he said trying to be sincere, slowly walking around the breakfast counter. Lily bit her lip and shook her head, trying to hold back her tearful expression. “You tore me to pieces, Rick,” she reminded him. “I didn't mean it,” he said shamefully. “What time, the first or the fiftieth?” she asked as if reminding herself. "You know I have a problem ...”
