Topic > Adult Learning Experience - 1034

Throughout my undergraduate studies I was told what to do as a student. All information, homework and assignments were handed in and dictated by the lecturers responsible for the subject or modules, and as a student I still had to follow the teaching as I had come to Cardiff University to do my masters in health science, attitudes of the teachers and the way the modules are structured which was different from what I was used to and in my opinion has influenced (foreshadowing) the way we teach in our operating department The ODP healthcare workers and nursing students who come to the operating room for the their internal ship post qualification and hoping to introduce change to assist new ODPs and graduate nurses to help them develop their skills to work independently and safely, the aim of the internal ship period is to produce competent theater professionals to term of learning skills, knowledge, confidence and responsibility Quinn et al. (2007). Therefore, many efforts must be made to help them in the transition period from students to qualified personnel (Simelane et al. 1997). Each inland vessel will be assigned a mentor but will also have to work with other qualified staff, part of the contract of each staff provides for on-the-job teaching, this system has been introduced to develop and support new graduates in practice (they will be called educators during this assignment). Exposure to different educators can have an advantage for the student: being exposed to different types of educators with different experiences, yet they are expected to achieve the same goals with each student. Despite the different strategies that health educators use in ODPs and nurses, a theory and practice gap still being examined… halfway through the paper… and evaluating my learning. I became more motivated to take the course as I was responsible for my own learning and identified learning resources, so I have more confidence in making decisions.4. Analysis: Having lived the adult learning experience, I realized the role of the student and the teacher in this approach. An effective teacher can facilitate the development of independence, self-confidence, satisfaction in learning and help students (the learner) to think critically. This experience taught me that there are different learning and teaching styles that I can adopt in my future.5. Conclusion: Having been involved in teaching students during their in-ship period, my undergraduate students' teaching style and experience compares to my post-graduation's new approach as an adult learning approach, I now I realized that
