Introduction A lot is known about Chinggis Khan, from his ability to wage war to the way he treated conquered people. Many people describe Genghis Khan as a brutal and sadistic warrior leader who carried out horrific massacres in his conquest of power. However, most people are unaware of the great advancements he brought to Mongolian civilization and Asia. This leads to the question: How did Chinggis Khan manage to change and influence the time period he lives in? Main Body To get you started, here is some background information on the origins of Chinggis Khan. Temujin, later known as Genghis Khan or famously known as Genghis Khan, was born around 1162 near the border between present-day Mongolia and Siberia. His mother was kidnapped by his father and forced into marriage due to a war with a neighboring tribe. At that time, several neighboring tribes located on the steppes often fought and robbed each other, so life for Temujin was very hostile. Early in his life, his father was poisoned to death by an enemy clan (Hanson-Harding, 18). Immediately after his father's death, his clan abandoned Temujin and his family (Hanson-Harding, 18). The years following his father's death, life for Temujin and his family was extremely difficult, and every day was filled with uncertainty. Several years later, escaping slavery and rescuing his wife after she was kidnapped, the tribe that once abandoned Temujin welcomed him back where he assumed the position of chieftain (Hanson-Harding, 18). After the appointment of the chieftain, Temujin decided to unify all the warring tribes in the steppes. Temujin managed to unify the tribes through conquest and a network of alliances that...... middle of paper ......l part of the European continent. Genghis Khan managed to maintain power over the vast lands he conquered very efficiently until his death almost a century later. Genghis Khan decisively entered world history as one of the most powerful and influential men of his time. Genghis Khan has become a symbol of the entire Mongolian civilization and way of life. When talking about the Mongols and their history, the first thing people remember will be the name Genghis Khan and his achievements, especially those involving warfare. Some other significant feats of Genghis Khan were how he successfully managed the developed areas under his control and the mass cultural growth that was stimulated by all these areas under his control. Although many people today consider Genghis Khan a savage, bloodthirsty maniac, his influence in Asia cannot be understated.
