ActivitiesThere are tons of different activities you can do at Mount Rainier National Park. The biggest thing you can do there is go hiking, there are tons of different trails you can take. The longest trail is the Wonderland Trail, 93 miles long. There are many things you can do there with the family, such as visiting farms and nature parks and taking a ride on a classic steam train. Some other things you can do are cycling, there are many routes you can cycle, fishing, there are many lakes you can go fishing. You can go horse riding there but you have to bring your own horse. You can also go camping there, you can sleep in a tent or camper. Some of the fall and winter activities you can do are mushroom hunting and blueberry picking, these are the most popular things to do during the fall. Some of the things to do during the winter are cross-country skiing and snowshoeing along the trails. Birds Mount Rainier is home to many species of birds. Depending on the elevation of the mountain determines which birds you will see. In the lower area of the park, characterized by Douglas firs and western hemlocks. The northern spotted owl and the marbled murrelet are found in this area. The next area of the park features western white pine and Pacific white fir. There can be many different birds in this area depending on the vegetation, weather and breading time. The altimetric area of the park is characterized by the presence of the Paradise and Sunrise areas. This area is characterized by mixed forests and subalpine meadows.
