Body parts falling asleep is definitely a strange sensation. You get up from your seat or a certain position and all you feel in your foot, leg, hand or arm is an uncomfortable tingling sensation. Then again you wake up in the middle of the night and cannot move your foot, leg, hand or arm in any way. As parts of your body "awaken", a bizarre tingling sensation increases. What causes this tingling sensation? (How it works 1) This tingling sensation is caused by paresthesia. Paresthesia is a shivering, tickling, tingling, prickling, or flushing sensation of an individual's skin without any obvious long-term physical impact. The sensation, which occurs without warning, is usually spontaneous and is described as numbness, crawling of the skin or tingling. The appearance of paresthesia can be transient or infinite. (Paraesthesia 1) Paresthesias of the hands, feet, legs and arms are regular and transient side effects. The most common and recognized reason is temporary restriction of blood supply to an area of the nerves, usually caused by leaning or leaning on parts of the body, such as the legs, other reasons include conditions such as hyperventilation syndrome, mouth often open and frenzied attack. Other common cases occur when controlled weight has been attached to a nerve, hindering/strengthening its ability. Weight evacuation normally leads to continued relief of these paresthesias.
