Topic > The need for revenge in Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

It takes only one person to start a cycle of repeated hatred and suffering, but also one person to break this chain and bring happiness to the world. Relationships in Wuthering Heights are based on envy and revenge and bring only pain. This is ironic since the abuser believes this will bring them pain relief. But Bronte emphasizes the futility of revenge since, even when accomplished, it does not serve the purpose of alleviating pain or restoring love. This can only be achieved when people remain true to the path of love and are tenacious enough to overcome it
