Topic > Characteristics of Leaders - 1116

As John Quincy Adams said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” When people think of a leader they might think of the president of the United States or, for sports, a quarterback. Everyone knows that a leader must know how to lead people to the goal, whether it is being a successful businessman or winning the Super Bowl. However, people have different opinions on the qualities a leader should have. Some say that a leader must be determined; others say leaders must be honest. There are many people who are leaders in history and in our lives. Leaders are not always good people, there are also bad leaders. There are things a leader can do that can lead to failure. I think there are many different types of leaders and although everyone has their own opinion on what a leader is like, they are all similar in many ways. Barrack Obama, the president of the United States, has many responsibilities as a leader. For example, it ensures that the economy continues to improve. He also ensures that the country runs safely by creating laws against crime. A leader must be an inspiration to others, reliable and responsible for the actions of the team or group. A quarterback is also a leader like Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. Brady must be able to inspire his team when a critical situation occurs in the game. When there are only two minutes left in the game and the offense needs to travel 70 yards for a touchdown, the team turns to Brady and puts the ball in his hands. If the team loses they must take responsibility for the outcome of the match. When leaders talk about problems, do they address them alone or as a whole… middle of paper… just your idea. These are just some of the things a leader can do to fail. Overall, leaders may have different goals but may have some of the same qualities. Everyone has their own opinions about a leader and what they need to do to be successful. Some of the most important qualities of a leader are determination, focus, inspiration, and openness to feedback. There are not only good leaders, but some also bad ones. Leaders can be someone famous or your mother. Ultimately, all leaders, whether in sports, business, or family, want to succeed. cns!17376F4C11A91E0E!879.entryhttp://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/GERhitler.htmhttp://www.leadershipatwork.co.za/Articles/what_makes_good_leaders_go_bad.htm
