This is caused by the adversarial relationship between the company and its subcontractors and suppliers, as discussed in the previous sections, and the lack of an adequate communication system along the supply chain. This could result in the transfer of incorrect information or the complete absence of important information causing defects and, consequently, rework. Providing incorrect drawings or previous revisions of drawings on site leads to incorrect construction and sometimes subcontracted work may not match the main design. This causes rework, adjustments and schedule delays. Poor communication with suppliers leads to incorrectly delivered materials and unsuitable components. In this case, certain activities may be suspended to allow the wrong stock to be returned and the right stock to be delivered. (Cutting-Decelle AF, 2007) Therefore, MP Constructions must pay attention to the flow of information along the supply chain to avoid project cost increases, schedule delays and, consequently, customer dissatisfaction.3.6
