In today's business environment, a company like Kuiper Leda must have a clear understanding of the need to have an efficient supply chain management system. This is necessary to gain a competitive advantage within any desired industry. Creating an understanding of the many different interactions that occur between the system's manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and customers helps create a more efficient and effective supply chain management system. By examining Kuiper Leda's supply chain, I will attempt to determine whether Kuiper Leda's practice meets current sufficiency for manufacturing's RFIR needs. Kuiper Leda is currently faced with the opportunity to grow its business by acquiring increasingly larger customers for the electronic components it produces. The company must ensure that its current supply chain is streamlined. Kuiper Leda, which specializes in the production of electronic control units (ECUs), has customers that include automotive industry manufacturers and OEMs. The company recently entered the production line of radio frequency identification devices (RFIS). This production line has only been operational for a short time. Kuiper Leda now has many of the same supply management concerns, such as resource availability, production capacity, and timely delivery of products to customers. With its ever-fluctuating demand over the past few months, it appears to have had an effect on Kuiper Leda's already overloaded supply chain. Having built and maintained a strong reputation with its customers, the company has been recognized for its quality and responsiveness in deliveries. Kuiper Leda is part of a very competitive industry, so it is no wonder that Kuiper Leda has managed to thrive thanks to repeat orders from their customers and relationships with suppliers, however, they are careful to recognize a clear awareness of their competitors and the business environment. Due to the large scale of operations, Kuiper Leda must focus its immediate attention on the company's ability to manage its capacity and delivery. With this latest production, there appears to be no uniformity in the current manufacturing process, which has left suppliers struggling to keep up with customer demands and Kuiper Leda's specific requirements. While Kuiper Leda must maintain its responsiveness to customers, it must also ensure that the plant or its suppliers are not negatively affected by increased demand. Due mainly to the increase in recent immediate demand, Kuiper Leda's current supply chain has become ineffective, therefore, Kuiper Leda has sought to make changes.
