Equatorial Guinea is a country with a fascinating culture and customs. Equatorial Guinea is a not so well known country. Its traditions and celebrations are unique to other Spanish-speaking countries because they are so far away. Equatorial Guinea is a country located on the west coast of Africa. The region is also known as Rio Muni. Equatorial Guinea borders many countries including Gabon, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo and Cabinda. Equatorial Guinea is a country with an interesting history. Equatoguineans are the inhabitants of Fang and Bubi who migrated there long ago. Then the Portuguese arrived in Equatorial Guinea. The Spanish also arrived later, so the country was initially called Spanish Guinea. Then the people gain their independence and change the name of the country to Equatorial Guinea. Equatoguineans have many jobs to choose from. For a living, some people grow coffee, sweet potatoes, rice, tapioca and bananas, which are sold every day. Before independence, Equatorial Guinea's main source of income was cocoa production. But after the departure of the Spaniards, the main source of income decreased. Equatorial Guinea's only exports are oil, timber and cocoa. Its main imports are oil and manufactured goods. The main trading partners are the United States, Spain, France and many other countries. The people of Equatorial Guinea like to do many things. They like to organize parties or celebrations during the holidays. They eat a lot of food during the holidays. They wear beautiful and unique clothes only for special holidays. During celebrations and festivals they love to dance and play. The celebrations and festivals also include competing against each other to see who can win the prize.
