The topic term I chose to research is Child Care Services. This topic has a variety of different regulations and modules that make it possible to run this program. Child welfare services have been around for some time and have helped as much as they can. This program has a timeline of many important events that make up the child welfare program. First, in 1909 the White House held the first national conference on the care of dependent children (Child Welfare League of America, n.d.). These were actually seven different conferences that took place from 1909 to 1970 in Washington, DC. The purpose of these conferences was to positively develop the lives of children across the nation. These conferences were about: “Democracy highlighted the democratic values, services and environment necessary for the well-being of children” (Chandler, n.d.). In 1912 the federal government established the U.S. Children's Bureau. It was not easy to start the process for the Children's Office. It took nine years for organizations and individuals to convince Congress that the nation needed to focus more on the lives of children. What the Children Bureau did was: “Collect and analyze data on infant and maternal mortality and morbidity” (Brown n.d.). This means that they were developing maternity and newborn plans and studies to investigate the problems of these children. After investigating them, they would report these problems. In the 1920s, the Child Welfare League of America was founded. The CWLA occurred at or during the same time as the Progressive Era. This program is designed to establish national policies and disseminate program materials among associate members while promoting children's services throughout the nation (So...... middle of document ......glect-080813 .aspxPatton, WW (n.d.). “The Story of the White House Conference on Children and Youth.” Retrieved March 19, 2013, from http://education.stateuniversity.com/pages/1828/Child-Protective-Services.html Terry , S.
