Food Rules In Food Rules, Michael Pollan explains how many people are confused about what to eat. “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants” so he teaches us what to eat. He tells us how Western diets are high in processed foods, high in sugar and high in salt. Furthermore, type 2 diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease and obesity are the cause of so-called Western diseases. Another type of diet that Michael says is not applicable is the traditional diet because it is a natural food. He says avoiding Western diets helps improve health. Rules I like help me avoid processed foods, but one rule I don't like requires me to eat less than I normally do.
