In a tale of two tech giants fighting a war against each other, Apple and Samsung have faced many court battles and there are many more to come coming soon. Apple and Samsung can be compared to two children arguing, after one says: “You got my idea”, the other replies: “No, you got my idea”. And this endless cycle of arguments continues and forces her to go to court where one of the companies takes a considerable sum from the other. Although both companies have their differences, they also have many similar things. First of all, let's focus on the products manufactured by Apple and their features. Apple's main products are the iPhone 5S, the iPad, many laptops and Mac computers, and also various iPods. The iPhone and iPad run on software called iOS 7 which was released on September 18, 2013. Some features of the iPhone and iPad are Siri, iTunes Radio, and Apple Maps. Siri is a built-in program that allows users to interact with the phone via voice and gives the user the ability to call people, set reminders, and search for things on the web, just with their voice. iTunes Radio is an application very similar to Pandora, it allows the user to listen to their favorite music for free with some advertising mixed in. Finally, Apple Maps is basically what the name says, it's an app that lets you find places and get directions to them. All in all, Apple products come at a high price, but they are high quality and continue to sell no matter how high the price. Additionally, Samsung may produce many of the same products that Apple produces, but Samsung products are very different from Apple products. Samsung makes a broader range of products than Apple, but the focus will be on products that Apple makes like we do… middle of paper… technology for years to come. To summarize, Apple and Samsung are two companies that work in completely different ways, but have many similar products and business ideas. Reflecting earlier on the confrontation between the two arguing children, in 2012 Apple sued Samsung for patent infringement. After Apple won the lawsuit, Samsung created a funny and false story that it had paid Apple a billion dollars in pennies. The story goes that thirty trucks full of nickel arrived to pay the sum won by Apple, but remember that the story was false (Elmer-DeWitt). Samsung contested the court's decision and the ongoing battle between the two tech giants continues with no foreseeable end in sight. Works Cited Elmer-DeWitt, Philip. CNN money. September 6, 2012.
