Current Status Precious' current status is living in a shelter with her son Abdul and requesting temporary custody of her daughter Mongo. He has had no contact with his mother since the meeting between Mrs. Weiss, Mary and Precious. Carl is dead. Precious began to have a more connected relationship with her grandmother Tootsie. Tootsie is currently supporting Precious and her custody case for Mongo. The risks Precious currently faces are refusal to regain custody of Mongo, inability to find a job after completing her GED, and rejection from college. Precious' drive and determination to achieve her goals minimizes these risks. Precious is also at risk of suffering long-term psychological trauma as a result of the abuse she suffered. To combat this risk, Precious joined a group of incest survivors at the shelter.VII. Provisional
