Topic > Haiti and Natural Disasters - 1010

Haiti is a country known for the worst natural disasters and other bad incidents. Many people have been injured, killed or died in ways they never thought possible. Everything you hear from this country is always something bad. I have yet to hear anything good from its people. Those living in Haiti live in fear, depression and some even commit suicide. Haiti is really that bad! People make it sound like they are describing “Hell” which is not a good place for anyone. From my experience I have come to the conclusion that Haiti today is poor due to lack of motivation. Not many people may agree with me, but the truth will set you free. When I was a child, I went maybe four times a year to this country they called “the land of high mountains”. I would go visit my grandfather. My grandfather, you might say, was a rich man. Not for wealth as you might think, but if he wants to be rich he could. Anyway what I meant was that he owned a lot of stock in the farm. Shopkeepers, large food companies and restaurant managers came to buy from my grandfather as if it were a factory. There were large, strong cows, mother goats (goats) and their children (young goats), horses, pigs, chickens and guard dogs. You name it, he had it. When I look at him he reminds me of a typical farmer in a movie. I ate fresh from the farm, chicken eggs, cow otter milk, orange juice from the tree right outside the window. I still remember it like it was yesterday. He taught many things. As a farmer he taught me how to treat infertile soil. Even though it might sound atrocious, but it worked. The first thing I did was dig a small hole and put cow manure in the ground. I left it for......middle of paper......does it continue to disappoint you? It's like trying to squeeze the juice out of a dried lime. Haiti has felt this way for a long time. They have been through so many difficulties that no matter what, they will still fall into the same difficult situation. Haiti has lost the courage to get back on its feet. They are afraid that if they return, more and more tragedies will strike. So they decided to stop trying and stay the same.
