Family in society has great importance in our life. Considered as a foundation in society, it is what unites a community. Family is the most important thing in everyone's life. I am not only referring to biological family but also to the close friends we call brothers and sisters. Family for me is a powerful word that allows us to unite with each other. When we talk about family, the first thing that comes to mind is my mother, father, brother and grandmother. Since I was a child, my family has been there, when I was conceived, families from all over the world came to the United States to see me. My family is the one who would undoubtedly be by my side no matter what. Even though we go through good times and hard times, our relationship as a family is the strongest. Everyone in my family; they are hard workers, they strive for the best; paving the way for future generations, including myself. The two foundations of that family are my mother and father. They are the ones who provide for me, send me to school, make sure there is a roof over my head and provide food on the table. They go above and beyond what they have to please me and make sure I get the best of everything in life. Being the eldest child in my family has its advantages and disadvantages. By flaws I mean being the guinea pig for anything new, like applying for financial aid, college, and more. I always envy my brother's future, because when he reaches my age he will be able to have help for everything I didn't get help for or he will simply know what and where to stay away. To be honest, there are more advantages than disadvantages to being the oldest. The benefits include being able to do what my brother couldn't do, like staying out late with the refrigerator among sheets of paper: “Having a place to go is a home. Having someone to love is family. Having both is a blessing. For me this quote means to be grateful for what I have been given. I am lucky to have a family who is by my side when I need them most. Bottom line, my family is the best thing I will ever have and nothing can replace it. I'm so grateful that they are part of my legacy and I'm not sure where I would end up without them. They help me become the man I am today, if it weren't for them who knows who I would be. Family means forever, affectionate, constant, intimate, loving, years and my family qualifies for all of the above. I feel very, very lucky to be part of this family and I will cherish every moment I spend with them. As Thomas Jefferson said: “The happiest moments of my life have been those few which I have spent at home, in the bosom of my family”..”
